FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is cold pressed juice?
When you run produce through a masticating juicer, the pulp is separated from the juice. You may be wondering why anyone would go through all that trouble. Absorption! Since your body doesn't have to work to digest the fibre, it can easily pull the vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients straight into your bloodstream. Plus, giving your digestive system a break means your body can focus on resting and repairing your hard-working cells.
What about fibre?
Sometimes called "roughage," insoluble fibre speeds digestion and adds bulk to the waste in your digestive tract. Examples of insoluble fibre include wheat bran, vegetables and whole grains. Put simply, insoluble fibre keeps you "regular." It also can help reduce your risk of colon cancer and other diseases.
Soluble fibre, on the other hand, acts like a sponge, absorbing water and forming a gel in your GI tract. Examples of soluble fibre include oat bran, barley, nuts, seeds, beans, peas and some fruits and vegetables; it's also found in psyllium. Soluble fibre helps soften stool, slow the absorption of sugar and protect against heart disease by helping to lower cholesterol. It also feeds the good gut bacteria.
Fibre is awesome! And you'll find plenty of it in a glass of cold pressed juice in its soluble form. You can fit a lot more vegetable goodness in a glass of juice (½ kilo or more!) than you can eat with your fork in one sitting. You'll also find both types of fibre in the lunchtime soups and nut mylk.
Is a Gut Reset suitable for someone who has never done any cleanses, detoxes or juice fasts?
Yes, absolutely! Most people say they are surprised by how much you get on the Gut Reset and how they don't struggle but really feel the benefits.
Can I drink coffee during the reset?
Choosing to opt out of coffee or caffeine during the Reset is an individual choice. If you are interested in addressing a caffeine dependence, lessening your caffeine intake, or getting rid of it altogether, the Reset is an excellent container in which to do so. Know that if you choose to eliminate caffeine during the Cleanse, you may feel withdrawal effects. Also keep in mind that they WILL pass.
If you are happy with your caffeine intake, continue as usual. Just be sure not to add any dairy or sugar that you normally would. If you want to take out coffee but are not quite ready for a full break from caffeine, I recommend opting for strong black tea, green tea, or Matcha.
I'm nervous about giving up what I’m used to! I eat bread (rice, pasta, eggs), everyday.
This Reset is designed to give you a safe, short, container in which to examine your day-to-day habits, with the intention of getting a more objective view of your relationship to food. For many of us, this letting go is challenging. Know this: it gets easier! Nourishing yourself with cold pressed juices, soups, nut mylks and bone broths all day, and the subsequent decrease in inflammation come together to calm your mind, reset your blood sugar, and allow you to feel empowered, not starving. So many Cleansers have reported feeling totally full and happy through the Cleanse - the protein, fat, and fibre in the menu go a long way towards keeping you satisfied. And remember, this isn't about 'winning' or 'failing.' This is about tuning in, and treating yourself well, from the inside out.

These host-microbiome-centred therapeutics have been designed with human ecology in mind, respecting the synergy between humans, microbes, plants and fungi.
Should I exercise as normal during the reset?
This really varies from person to person, some people have increased energy and vitality during the Reset, others feel more fatigued than usual as their bodies make some major adjustments internally. The answer is you need to check in with yourself. Do you feel vibrant, like moving some energy would enhance your experience of the Reset? Then go! Exercise as you would normally. Do you feel a little low or more tired? Take a nap. This is all about getting us modern humans to slow down, to tune in, and to give our bodies what they are asking for.
Apple cider vinegar?(ACV)
ACV is made by fermenting organic apple juice with yeast and beneficial bacteria, which turns it into acetic acid – the active ingredient in vinegar. This culture of good bacteria is known as 'the mother' (similar to the SCOBY culture in kombucha) which sounds bizarre, but it's full of proteins, enzymes and good bacteria, which gives the vinegar a cloudy appearance. When you see filtered ACV in shops (a clear liquid) it hasn't got the mother in and doesn't carry the same benefits. Plus, ACV has chemicals known as polyphenols. These antioxidants can curb cell damage that can lead to other diseases.
Thanks to the mother, ACV has the right bacteria you need to support a healthy digestive system. It's been shown to have antimicrobial, antiviral, anti-yeast and antifungal benefits, all helping to support microbiome and overall immune balance.
Will there be any side effects?
Common side effects are headaches but this is different from person to person and a lot of the time down to caffeine. You may also experience fewer bowel movements. Please feel free to get in touch if you have concerns.
How should I eat once I've finished the Reset?
What you do after the Cleanse is all about what your goals are: maintain an anti-inflammatory diet, lose weight, gain more mental clarity, let go of gluten, stay more hydrated, incorporate more good fat, eat less carbs, be more mindful in your eating, etc. The point here is that the Reset is a wonderful way in which to make positive changes. Alternatively, simply go back to your normal life and see how you feel! Use the Reset as a break from your norm.
How will I feel afterwards?
Feedback from my clients says how energised they feel, no brain fog, no bloating, skin looks clearer and they feel more enlightened about eating habits.
How often should I do the Reset?
I personally do this Cleanse about once every 2-3 months. It is such a sweet break from the norm, and I am so accustomed to slipping right in and enjoying the ride. Your body will be glad to have this break every few months if that is within your scope. If that feels like too much to you, perhaps try participating in a Reset once or twice a year.
I am not sure if you deliver to my area of Geneva or Vaud.
If you have a query about this please get in touch.
Will I lose weight?
The primary goal of this reset isn't weight loss. However most of my clients' feedback is that they have lost some weight.
Can I drink alcohol during the rest?
Pretty sure you know the answer to this one already. Certainly abstain from alcohol during the Reset. We are doing our best to decrease inflammation, remove sugar, smooth the blood sugar curve and bring us back to a baseline. Alcohol tends to negate all of that.
How much water should I drink during the reset?
The general answer is: plenty but not too much! Keeping in mind that you are getting lots of water in the form of broth, soup, tea, etc, drink enough water to keep you feeling hydrated and peeing often.
